[ad_1]

OnePlus has rolled out the first beta for OxygenOS 14 based on Android 14 for its flagship devices, including the OnePlus 11. The new software update brings in plenty of under-the-hood changes, along with simple and subtle visual updates. If you’re wondering what these new features are, along with the tips and tricks of OxygenOS 14, you’ve come to the right place.

8 Best OxygenOS 14 Tips and Tricks That You Should Know

In this article, we’ll look at some of the best features and hidden tips and tricks of OxygenOS 14. These features will help you maximize your new phone’s potential and harness its most potent features. It’ll also ensure that your OnePlus phone runs faster and smoother, just as you want it to.

1. Enjoy Better Performance

The all-new OxygenOS 14 brings on board the Trinity Engine, a combination of six proprietary technologies from OnePlus. For most users, the primary three technologies are CPU Vitalization, RAM Vitalization, and ROM Vitalization. Together, they are used for improving the performance, boosting the battery life, and offering a smoother performance.

In fact, OnePlus claims a 10% improvement in speed across the board, coupled with at least 20 minutes of extra battery backup.

Add to that, the Trinity Engine houses more technologies for gamers. It offers HyperRendering, HyperTouch, and HyperBoost technologies. Effectively, these technologies use AI coupled with the hardware advancements of OnePlus devices to provide a lag-free and immersive gaming experience. The gameplay feels responsive, and the framerate should also be stable.

The best part here is that you, as the user, do not have to do anything. Trinity Engine lives inside the OS and is enabled by default.

2. Use Dynamic Island on OxygenOS

It was bound to happen eventually, right? OnePlus became one of the first Android companies to bring iOS’ Dynamic Island to OxygenOS in the form of Fluid Cloud. There’s no setting to enable as Fluid Cloud works independently. While OnePlus hasn’t shared a list of currently supported apps, you can use it with the Voice Recorder and Timer apps.

As you’d imagine, there’s a floating bar at the top of the Status Bar. OnePlus is trying to combine interactions like Bubbles, Capsules, and Pop-up Windows into a unified style, and this is their answer. However, similar to Apple’s implementation, we will have to wait till developers bring Live Activities to OxygenOS’ Fluid Cloud to unlock its true potential.

3. Refined Aquamorphic Design

OxygenOS also follows a new refined Aquamorphic Design. As a result, OxygenOS dynamically changes your phone’s colors and overall look depending on your actions. While new features will be added to this section in future beta updates, OnePlus has already made two new changes available to its users.

The first of these features includes the new Aquamorphic ringtones and alerts. These subtle tones are relatively more relaxing than the usual crop of anxiety-inducing alarms. You can find them by navigating to Settings > Sound & vibration > Ringtone, and then tapping on ‘Aquamorphic themes’.

Speaking of themes, the other customization feature you can try for yourself is the all-new Go Green AOD. This Always-On Display theme allows you to select one of three Earth-related images and shows your carbon footprint based on the number of steps you’ve taken.

To change the AOD on OxygenOS, head over to Settings > Wallpapers & style > Always-On Display. Now, enable the toggle for Always-On Display and select the Carbon Footprint AOD Theme you choose.

As you walk and complete more steps, the closer the progress bar gets to the goal of CO2 reduction. The AOD also offers new animations to motivate you to always walk towards a greener Earth.

4. Take a Break with Zen Space

One of the best features of OxygenOS was Zen Modes. It is now replaced with Zen Space, taking the feature up a notch. Zen Space offers a single solution to help you relax and calm yourself. There are a total of five serene themes to choose from to help you relax better.

You can choose between Deep Zen or Light Zen while configuring which apps are allowed inside the latter. The Zen Space app also offers a dashboard to view your stats better so that your digital well-being is always in your hands.

5. Enjoy Better Privacy with Auto Pixelate 2.0

One of my favorite cool things to do with OxygenOS 14 is Auto Pixelate 2.0. We all take a ton of screenshots, and there are times when those contain sensitive information. Thanks to Auto Pixelate 2.0, these strings can automatically be pixelated or blurred.

Once you take a screenshot, go to the editor and tap on Pixelate. Then, tap on Auto. The feature will now automatically recognize all the content that can be blurred.

You can tap and hold on the picture to highlight all the content that can be blurred. All you have to do is tap on them to pixelate it automatically.

It’s that simple. The feature works across receipts, vehicle license plates, identification documents, boarding passes, and more. Add to that, we contacted OnePlus regarding this, and they claim that all the data is processed on the device itself to ensure your privacy.

6. Use File Dock

Another cool feature introduced with OxygenOS 14 is File Dock. While OnePlus users are already familiar with the Smart Sidebar, File Dock is an extension of the same feature. Think of File Dock as a Clipboard Manager app for your OnePlus smartphone. You can save any text, image, link, and file to the File Dock. Simply drag and drop it to the File Dock to store it.

You can then access the File Dock from the Smart Sidebar to access your stored content. What’s more is that File Dock stores these files for up to 30 days, which is pretty good. It genuinely takes multitasking to the next level, and you should be using File Dock immediately.

7. Take Better Notes

One of the best OxygenOS 14 tips and tricks is to use the updated Notes app. OnePlus is calling it Notes 2.0, and it brings along a couple of subtle changes to help you take better notes. Notes 2.0 allows users to customize the appearance of their notes by changing the font, adding italics, bold, and splitting lines.

You can also change the text color and highlight certain parts. Additionally, Notes 2.0 features smart categorization, making it easy to find old notes. While Samsung’s Notes App has many features, OnePlus’ implementation is solid, too.

8. Use the Security & Privacy Center

OxygenOS 14 also brings out Android 14’s Safety Center. It’s a unified interface that lets users manage the security status and privacy-related settings and preferences and identify potential security risks. To access it, navigate to Settings > Security & Privacy.

Inside, you can view the overall security status of your device, including device security, app security, and network security. Additionally, you can also quickly manage your privacy settings for apps, permissions, and other features. The app will also identify potential security risks, such as outdated apps, malware infections, and phishing attempts.
